Very hipster: Great coffee and pastries but be prepared to pay! Lattes have been solid. To buffer the cost, I use the “Too Good to Go” app in the morning and get their pastries a day old at a discount. Chocolate croissants are solid with a strange rye twist. If you need bread for breakfast try the croissant loaf. I’d skip on the baguette. Be prepared to wait in line.
A high quality bakery and coffee shop with tables to enjoy. I ordered the cardamom brioche, and it was delightful! Perfect amount of cardamom and sweetness, so buttery. In the morning it seems like most people come here to chat, but there were also people working on their computers as well.
There is a great risk and great reward in going super high end and innovative. I say that because that describes Temple Pastries.
Exhibit 1: Fig Oat "Cookie"
I bought the Fig Oat Cookie and I was left disappointed. Supplanting the raisins with figs did not work out. Scaling the cookie did not work either. The Fig Oat cookie had none of the crystalline crust of a cookie, none of the expected sugar punch. This was a mini muffin.
The crossiant was stellar. As good as you will get in the Pacific Northwest.
The pastries are really good, but definitely over priced. This used to be a non-tipping facility, which was why the pastries cost so much, but they recently added the tipping function without changing any of the pastry prices. I understand the reason for adding the tipping as an option, but the whole point of this bakery was that they pay their employees a higher rate to justify the elevated prices. I wish they would have adjusted the prices to account for adding the tipping as an option because now there’s this pressure to tip and I can tell they get upset after I don’t tip since I haven’t tipped at this place for 3+ years now. Today I got 2 coffees and 3 pastries and it was $50 which is absolutely insane in itself without adding a tip. It’s just crazy how high the prices are and then adding pressure to customers for tipping when they used to have a huge sign boasting about how they were a no tipping facility because of the wages they pay their employees.
One of the best pastry places in Seattle. Both their savory and sweet pastries are unbelievable. I also had their baguette and their coffee, which too were amazing. Great vibe place with lots of seating. Highly highly recommended.
This place is really nice, I worked from here on a Monday and it was chill. Their latte was very good and I tried a croissant and a cardamom bun. I wasn’t crazy about the cardamom bun but the croissant was delicious. Definitely one of the best croissants I’ve had in the US, definitely recommend! The counter person was nice and helpful as well.
Worth the hype - I haven't had a pastry I didn't like and have visited at least 20 times. Only note: skip the breakfast sandwiches (not their forte) and get one of the croissant quiches instead. Delicious!
Visiting from out of state, we were excited to try this place out. Got free street parking in front. There was a long line, and it moved super slow. There was NO urgency with the service. Not the cheapest place, but not the costliest either. We ordered a quiche, a raspberry tea cake, a strawberry croissant donut, and coffee. The donut was terrible, we trashed it. The tea cake was just okay. We enjoyed the quiche and coffee though. In terms of the place, we enjoyed seeing all the plants. Definitely wouldn’t come back.
